Catarina Dutilh Novaes is Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Groningen as well as Editor-in-Chief for the journal Synthese. Her research over the years has focused on a number of different topics, in particular history of logic (especially Latin medieval logic) and philosophy of logic and mathematics. She is the author of Formalizing Medieval Logical Theories (Springer, 2007), Formal Languages in Logic (Cambridge University Press, 2012) as well as of numerous articles, and the editor of the Cambridge Companion to Medieval Logic (Cambridge University Press, 2016).
